Hannah’s House is a Specialist Homelessness Service in Ipswich, QLD funded by the Department of Housing and auspiced by Journey Church. We provide crisis accommodation and mobile support to young women who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Since 1982, Hannah’s House has been helping young women escape domestic and family violence. Our clients always have someone to talk to, whether it’s about specific issues or just for a chat over a cup of coffee. Located in Ipswich, QLD, the shelter’s address is kept confidential to ensure the safety of both clients and staff. We offer various programs and connect our clients with local services to help them rebuild their lives.
24 hour supervision and support is provided by staff who assist residents to gain independent living skills required during their stay and for moving toward independence and sustaining safe and stable housing.

Our Transitional house is a 4 bedroom house that supports our clients who have gained independent living skills, but are unable to find a housing outcome at time of exit from the crisis shelter.

Our Mobile Support Program provides assistance to young women aged 16-25 years who require support to maintain housing or who are homeless or living in unstable housing circumstances to access and maintain accommodation.

Our outreach program exists to help those people who are sleeping rough in the Ipswich area. Sleeping rough could be anything from couch surfing, sleeping in a car, or out on the streets. This program goes out into the community and delivers essential items and warm clothing and bedding to those who are living under these conditions.
The government’s trying to tackle homelessness, but it’s a huge issue. Our community really needs to pitch in and work together to find a solution.
